south-western coast of the Mediterranean sea and it is the most wellknown
tourism area of Turkey. About 1.6 million people live in Antalya. The City is
located in front of the tall mountains of Taurus and on a steep slope down rock
plain to the sea.
History
The history of Antalya comes up to the 2nd century B.C., when Attalus II,
king of pergamon, founded this town named "Atteleia" - today it is
called Antalya. In the following time Antalya was ruled by the Romans,
Byzantinians, Seldshukians and the Osmans. Throughout in Antalya You can

advisable. Antalya today
Only in the last 10 years Antalya became wellknown because of its tourism.
Today it is a modern metropolis. Here You can find everything that belong to a
big City: high rises and tower blocks, shopping centres, but also the native

jam. Antalya connects antiquity and modern lifestyle in a special way. The large
parks, the streets lined by palm trees and the many historical buildings will
fill You with enthusiasm. Beaches

west there is the pebbled beach of Konyaaltı. Especially on the weekends in
the hot summer time thousands of visitors have their picnic here. In direction

lot of good hotels in all categories up to international luxury hotels. Tourism
